2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe vs 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
You might think that the world of luxury vehicles would be smaller than the more affordable vehicles in the industry, but the luxury segments are nearly as widespread as any other. We wanted to take one of our favorite luxury cars and compare it to another with just as big a nameplate and see just who might take the cake, so we took a closer look at the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe vs 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Both come from incredibly well-known luxury brands, and both consider themselves to be well versed in the world of luxury performance. But one, as you can see from the table above, is much better equipped as a luxury sports car.
Advantages of the Cadillac ATS Coupe
Each of the specs recorded in the table above are directly related to performance. Of course, there are other differences and advantages in each, like the luxury interior and convenience of the features in the cabin. But we wanted to focus mainly on the speed and power of the two luxury sports cars to show which is superior in that field, and the table above makes the winner of that painfully obvious. Starting at simply power, the ATS trumps the Mercedes-Benz C250 by 71 horsepower and 66 foot-pounds of torque, making it an all-around better performing vehicle.
That mixed with the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, of which the Cadillac weighs nearly 300 pounds less, make for a faster car. The lighter the vehicle is, the faster it can go. So both the power ratings and weight rating directly correlate to a faster 0-96 km time, in which the Cadillac ATS can hit 96 km/h 1½ seconds faster than the C250 can. So if youre looking for a fast, powerful luxury vehicle, then I think you know which option to look further into.
