2015 Chevy Sonic vs 2015 Hyundai Accent

Chevrolet has one of the most expansive lineups in the industry, with cars fitting into nearly every segment or classification and tons of customization options within each model. We wanted to take a closer look at one of the smaller, more unique vehicles on the lineup in comparison to one of its main competitors, so we decided to compare the 2015 Chevy Sonic vs 2015 Hyundai Accent. Both vehicles are subcompact cars, and we decided to take a look at the manual-transmission hatchback versions.

Advantages of the 2015 Chevy Sonic

Chevy Sonic was just introduced in 2011 as the new nameplate of the second-generation Chevy Aveo, which debuted in 2002. The Accent, on the other hand, has been around quite a few years longer. But outside of that slightly longer lifespan and a couple extra cubic feet of passenger volume, the Hyundai Accent doesn’t have many other advantages. Even still, both vehicles are incredibly similar in specifications, mostly bring the decision down to aesthetics.

But the Sonic does get the nod in many different areas, even if it is only a slight one. With an extra horsepower, an extra 0.1 l/100km city fuel efficiency and an extra 0.2 cubic feet of maximum cargo capacity, the Sonic does squeak out the advantage. But other than that, as we stated, it comes down mostly to the aesthetic, and the 2015 Chevy Sonic is a beautiful vehicle.

The 2015 Chevy Sonic, which is one of the least expensive vehicles on the lineup, has a very appealing exterior, and furthermore a large selection of unique colors like Red Hot and Dragon Green Metallic.
