2015 Honda Civic vs 2015 Chevy Cruze
Every segment in the automotive industry is getting deeper and deeper, but one of the few that sits with the most depth remains the compact sedan segment. We thought wed take a look at just two of the compact sedans we offer at our different dealerships to see the differences and similarities between them, so we researched the 2015 Honda Civic vs 2015 Chevy Cruze.
Each of these cars have been around for a few years, though the Civic has been around for a few decades longer, so theyve had time to evolve their style. The Honda Civic was last redesigned in 2011, while the Chevy Cruze just entered a new generation in the 2015 model year. With completely different styles, either compact sedan offers something different for different interests.
Compact Sedan Specifications
Taking a look at the table above will immediately draw your attention to how similar the two compact sedans really are. Neither has a clear advantage in power, as on the one hand the Civic has 5 more horsepower than the Cruze, which would admittedly not present much of a noticeable difference. On the other hand, the Cruze has 19 lb-ft more torque in its engine, which again wouldnt provide more difference. So the power specs of the two vehicles kind of even out, leading us to turn elsewhere.
We though perhaps one vehicle would provide more space for passengers to move around in, even if only a little. But as it turns out, each sedan has exactly 94.6 cubic feet of space, leaving us at an impasse. The only real difference we could find was in terms of fuel efficiency, as the 2015 Honda Civic uses 0.7 l/100km less fuel than the 2015 Chevy Cruze. Again not a huge difference, but noticeable enough to offer a bit of savings at the gas pump down the road.
