2015 Honda Civic vs 2015 Volkswagen Jetta

Having been around since 1972 makes the Honda Civic one of the oldest models on the market to never take a break. Furthermore it’s one of the most diverse vehicles in terms of different models as it has several different versions for car shoppers to choose from. The Volkswagen Jetta, another very popular compact car in the market, has been around nearly as long without ever stopping production. We wanted to take a look at these two vehicles side by side to see which takes the advantage, so we researched the 2015 Honda Civic vs 2015 Volkswagen Jetta.

Advantages of the Honda Civic

These are two fairly evenly matched vehicles from bumper to bumper. They’re both affordable, efficient and spacious for being such small vehicles, and they both have a desirable style that everyone is comfortable with. Even looking at the table above you can see how similar the two are, especially in terms of passenger volume where the Civic’s advantage is only a few cubic inches. But you can also notice that no matter how similar they are, the Civic does take the nod in many different specifications.

Power obviously isn’t a huge necessity in this vehicle segment, but even still an advantage of nearly 30 horsepower and a few foot-pounds of torque is a noticeable enough difference to offer a more enjoyable driving experience. Combine that with a fairly substantial advantage in efficiency, in the way of a little over a whole litre per 100 kilometres combined fuel economy, and we think the Honda Civic is the obvious choice between the two ever-popular compact cars.
