2015 Honda CRZ vs 2015 Hyundai Veloster
Sports cars are some of the most popular vehicles in the automotive industry. They’re flashy, they’re quick, and what’s not to like? However, another extremely popular style of car in the industry today is hybrid vehicles. Many people, while they like the style and speed of sports cars, opt for the often far-superior fuel efficiency of hybrid vehicles. For years, engineers and manufacturers have been trying to build a hybrid (pun intended) of the two styles, but Honda is one of the only brands to achieve such with the Honda CRZ. We wanted to take a look at how our sport-hybrid vehicle compares to regular sports cars, so we compared the 2015 Honda CRZ vs 2015 Hyundai Veloster.
Advantages of the 2015 Honda CRZ
As you can tell by taking a look at the table above, the 2015 Honda CRZ is nearly identical to the Hyundai Veloster in horsepower. It may have a slight disadvantage in horsepower, but what it lacks there is made up for with its lighter curb weight. But this is often the disadvantage that is run into with making sport-hybrid vehicles, it’s difficult to get the power drivers want while remaining fuel efficient.
However, the 2015 Honda CRZ is extremely fuel efficient compared to the Veloster. While highway fuel efficiency is a fairly close race, when the 2015 Honda CRZ drives through city streets it uses the same amount of fuel as the Veloster does on the highway. This translates to a 2.2 l/100km advantage in city fuel efficiency, which in our eyes makes the 2015 Honda CRZ a much better option. You’re not giving up much in speed or power, but getting a lot back in fuel economy.
