2015 Honda Pilot vs 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

The Honda Pilot is in for a huge upgrade next year. At the North American International Auto Show, Honda announced that they’d be totally revamping the Pilot for the 2016 model year. That means a whole new generation with all the advancements and other goodies that come with that. But that doesn’t mean we should forget about the 2015 model, which is already an outstanding midsize 8-passenger crossover. We wanted to set up another battle between our prized crossover with one of its segment competitors, so we’re taking a look at the 2015 Honda Pilot vs 2015 Nissan Pathfinder.

The Pilot has quite a few advantages, though the Pathfinder was certainly a worthy foe. While the Nissan may have better fuel economy (not by much), the Honda Pilot has a much bigger fuel tank meaning it won’t have to stop nearly as often as the Pathfinder. As for power beneath the hood, the ratings are fairly equal. The Nissan Pathfinder might take the cake in overall horsepower, but only by 10 horses, and the Honda Pilot has 13 more foot-pounds of torque. That makes it a fairly even competition.

Midsize Crossover Cabin Specs

Where the real advantages begin to come into play is on the inside of the midsize crossovers. For starters, the Honda Pilot can accommodate up to 8 passengers while the Nissan Pathfinder can only house 7. But when carting around your stuff with, or instead of, your passengers the Pilot will have an easier time as well. With a rear cargo hold stretching to 20.8 cubic feet, which is 4.8 cu. ft. bigger than the Nissan Pathfinder, the Pilot is well equipped to hold your stuff. But dropping all the seats when you have a lot of stuff to haul around shows the Pilots real advantage, which just happens to be 7.2 cu. ft. of space.

If you like the sound of this excellent midsize crossover utility vehicle and don’t feel like waiting for the next model, then be sure to schedule a test drive right here on our website.
