2015 Toyota Avalon vs 2015 Nissan Maxima

When it comes to flagship sedans, the 2015 Toyota Avalon lives up to the name. A flagship is a brand’s top-of-the-line full-size vehicle in any overarching automotive segment. It is a vehicle filled with convenient, luxurious features from bumper to bumper and generally the most interior space as well. The Avalon might not be Toyota’s most well-known vehicle, but it is certainly an incredible work of manufacturing that can hold its own against any other full-size sedan. So we decided to test that theory by comparing the 2015 Toyota Avalon vs 2015 Nissan Maxima.

Advantages of the Toyota Avalon

Both of these full-size sedans are considered the flagships of their respective brands, so it is safe to assume that either vehicle has plenty of luxury features packed into the interior. Plus, you can tell just by looking at the pictures above, that both vehicles look as close to luxury vehicles as a mass-market sedan can get. Where the real differences and advantages come into play are in the specifications of the vehicles.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the two cars have kind of a back and forth. The Avalon has slightly better fuel economy on the highway, but the Maxima takes the cake through city streets. If it comes down to fuel efficiency for you, the best way to do it would be to decide if you’ll be spending more time on the highway or through the city.

Space is where the Avalon really begins to take off. In the trunk it has nearly 2 cubic feet of extra space to pack your suitcases or whatever else you might need inside. The bigger advantage comes in terms of passenger volume, as it has north of 10 extra cubic space for your friends and family to stretch out and get comfortable in.

If you decide you’d rather have more space to play with and slightly better highway efficiency, then you know who to call. We’d be happy to answer any further questions about the vehicles and get you set up with a test drive.
