The brand-new ATS-V coupe joins the already established stable of V-series vehicles that Cadillac has assembled, namely the CTS-V sedan which is the other vehicle entering a new generation for the upcoming model year. V-series automobiles are the pinnacle of luxury performance, combining track-ready performance with premium luxury inside of a beautiful package like you’ve come to expect from Cadillac.

V-Series Quality Performance and Luxury

The main difference between the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V and the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V is the type of car. The CTS-V is a 4-door sedan while the ATS-V is a 2-door coupe, so it’s a little bit smaller and more compact. That translates directly to maneuverability, but a small setback is that you won’t be getting quite as much power out of it. That’s not so say the ATS-V isn’t a powerhouse, just not quite as powerful as the CTS-V sedan. Beneath the hood of the brand-new V-series sits a 3.6L Twin Turbo V6 engine that delivers over 450 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. While an exact time hasn’t been measured yet, it is expected to reach 96 km/h in less than 4 seconds with a top speed of over 298 km/h.

But the engine isn’t the only impressive performance feature of the ATS-V. 4-piston rear fixed caliper Brembo brakes with vented rotors, which are some of the best in the industry, offer incredibly impressive stopping power, while Michelin Pilot Super Sport summer only tires, designed specifically for V-series vehicles, encase the lightweight V-forged wheels. Plus, depending on whether you would prefer an automatic or manual transmission, you can choose between an 8-speed or 6-speed respectively. Either choices offers the maximum in handling and control, though the manual would obviously take an edge.
