2016 Cadillac CTS-V Edmonton AB
The past couple of weeks has seen a lot of information about the first wave of 2016 model year vehicles released. The North American International Auto Show, quickly followed by the Chicago International Auto Show, makes for the perfect 1-2-punch for manufacturers to unveil some of their most exciting new models. That was certainly the case for Cadillac, as they not only made a few more hints about their upcoming flagship the CT6, but also debuted two all-new V-series sedans. The first is the next-gen 2016 Cadillac CTS-V in Edmonton AB.
The V-series of vehicles is Cadillacs world-renowned luxury performance line of vehicles. The are automobiles that take what Cadillac does best, premium luxury, and tailor-makes it to push performance to the brink and beyond. They call it competition. We call it V. Thats Cadillacs V-series motto, and its the reason were such big fans of these vehicles. The Cadillac CTS-V originally debuted in 2004 then entered its second generation in 2009, but for the 2016 model year its going through another overhaul to become one of the best vehicles Cadillac has ever built.
V-Series Quality Performance and Luxury
In a luxury performance car that is ready for the track, the single most important part of the vehicle is the engine. The beast sitting within the all-new 2016 CTS-V is a 6.2L supercharged V8 engine. That alone sends shivers down my spine, but the power specs are even more impressive. This engine will deliver 640 horsepower alongside 630 lb-ft of torque, making it capable of hitting 96 km/h in a mere 3.7 seconds and topping out at 322 km/h. Working in conjunction with an 8-speed automatic transmission that smoothly transitions between gears, maximizing engine performance and keeping it at the peak.
One of the things that helps the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V be such an astounding performance vehicle is the ability to choose between four selectable drive modes. They help you and your vehicle achieve the ultimate handling possible by automatically adjusting steering, suspension and transmission depending on whether youre driving in Tour, Sport, Track or Snow mode. We expect these great vehicles to launch towards the end of Summer 2015, so well keep you posted with more information as it becomes available.
