Chevy has had one of the most exciting lead-ins to the 2016 model year in the industry, announcing several mid-generation refreshes, all-new models and even a concept car since the beginning of the auto show season. One of the vehicles that is going to be hitting the streets completely new next year will be the ninth-generation Chevy Malibu, and we thought we’d take a look at it in comparison to perhaps its biggest rival on the market today, with the 2016 Chevy Malibu vs 2016 Ford Fusion.
Advantages of the 2016 Chevy Malibu
While many details that we normally like to look at when comparing vehicles have yet to be announced about the upcoming Chevy, we did get a glance at a few of them. For starters, fuel efficiency, which is one of the most important automotive areas in vehicles today. While highway fuel efficiency is only slightly better in the Malibu than the Fusion, looking at the hybrid versions of the vehicles the Malibu Hybrid is far superior, utilizing almost 1 l/100km less.
One of the most exciting things about the all-new Malibu is the fact that the engineers completely overhauled its entire structure, making it the lightest vehicle in its segment at 3,100 lbs. Add to that it’s fairly substantial boost in horsepower, and the Malibu is almost a no brainer.
