2016 Honda Civic Coupe Edmonton AB
It didn’t get much more exciting than the official unveiling of the 2016 Honda Civic Sedan a couple of months ago. We knew that the tenth-generation Civic was coming, but it wasn’t official until it was actually there before our very eyes, and it was stunning. And just a couple of weeks later we got our second taste, as the 2016 Honda Civic Coupe in Edmonton AB was officially unveiled, sportier and more stunning than ever.
The Sedan and Coupe models are just the first two of five different models that Honda has confirmed will be available on the brand-new compact car. The third is slated to be the even sportier Si model, followed by a hatchback model with even more cargo volume, concluding with the sportiest model of them all, the first Civic Type-R to grace North American soil.
Power & Performance in the 2016 Honda Civic Coupe
If we had to choose one aspect in particular about the all-new Honda Civic that could be considered the most exciting, it would have to be the all-new powertrains, delivering on the sporty promise of the vehicle’s exterior. The standard engine found on lower trim levels will be a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that delivers 158 horsepower alongside 138 lb-ft. of torque. The available engine, which comes on higher trim levels, is a 1.5L turbocharged engine delivering 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft. of torque. This marks the first time a turbocharged engine was available on a Honda Civic Coupe here in North America.
