2016 Honda Pilot vs 2016 Acura MDX
The 2016 Honda Pilot was practically rebuilt from the ground up. It kept some of the same great staples of what made a Pilot a Pilot, but completely changed the overall aesthetic and many other aspects as well. The end result was one of the best looking crossovers Honda has every provided, and we assumed considering the company also makes the Acura MDX that the two vehicles would be nearly identical in terms of specifications. But when we decided to take a look at the 2016 Honda Pilot vs 2016 Acura MDX, we discovered it isn’t quite as evenly matched as one might expect.
Advantages of the 2016 Honda Pilot
Right off the bat, the MDX made things interesting. We saw that their fuel economy ratings were exactly the same, so we figured our initial assumption would hold up. But moving onto capacities we started to notice fairly drastic differences in terms of space, where the Acura MDX cannot even hold a candle to the Honda Pilot. In the cargo are alone, our crossover can carry an extra 3.5 cubic feet of your stuff.
Of course, as with all utility vehicles, dropping the seats down opens up even more space, and in this case separates the competitors even further. The Honda Pilot offers an extra 40.8 cu. ft. of space. That means that the Pilot offers nearly 3 of the MDX cargo areas more than its adversary. And passenger volume stays the same, as the Pilot provides an extra 24.1 cu. ft. of room for you and your passengers to stretch out and get comfortable in.
