2016 Toyota Corolla vs 2016 Nissan Sentra
The Corolla is without a doubt the most popular Toyota passenger car on the lineup, perhaps its most popular vehicle overall. It’s been around for a few decades now, and only seems to keep getting better with time. Now it’s newest version is available, and we thought that we would take a look at how it stacks up against one of its biggest rivals by comparing the 2016 Toyota Corolla vs 2016 Nissan Sentra.
There is a chance that the Sentra may be overhauled for the 2016 model year, but right now these are the specifications we have available from its previous version and what we currently assume the 2016 model will offer. Even if the specifications do change, we doubt the Corolla’s advantages will be affected by much. Besides, in the end it all comes down to style anyways. And we certainly think the Corolla is stylish.
Advantages of the 2016 Toyota Corolla
Taking a look at the table above you can see that both models are quite comparable, but the Corolla manages to squeak out enough of a lead over the Sentra to be the better choice in our opinion. Let’s start from the top with combined fuel economy. The 2016 Toyota Corolla achieves slightly better fuel efficiency both on the highway and city, and when you combine both stats together it translates to roughly a half-litre advantage ever 100 kilometres over the Sentra. In the long run, that could save you quite a bit of change.
Moving down, the Corolla has 2-extra horsepower. That means absolutely nothing, as two horsepower would be barely noticeable. But when you look at the next spec, the Corolla also weighs 117 lbs. less, which means it needs less power to do the same things as a heavier vehicle. That means the horsepower boost translates to a bit more of an advantage that original assumed. The Nissan Sentra may have a bit of a boost in passenger volume, but half a cubic foot of space doesn’t exactly do much.
