2017 Chevy Bolt EV Edmonton AB
Every once in a while, a vehicle is so technologically advanced that it can make its world debut at a something different than an auto show, something like the annual Consumer Electronics Show held each year in Las Vegas. CES 2016 played home to one of these debuts, as we finally laid eyes upon the production version of the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV in Edmonton AB.
The Chevy Bolt EV Concept debuted at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, with a production model being confirmed just a few short weeks later. Now, we’ve seen the future of electric vehicles, as Chevy has introduced the first affordable, long-range EV on the market.
Specs & Features of the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV
While we’ve seen the finished product, a lot of – and excuse the confusing language – specific specifications have yet to be released. We won’t know things like power ratings or specific range for a while yet, but we did get a sneak peek into some of the more exciting features that will be calling the brand-new 2017 Chevy Bolt home. Like the massive 10.2” MyLink infotainment center found in the console, completely customizable with widget-based operation, for instance.
We do know that the new Bolt will feature the rear camera mirror found in the Cadillac CT6, the one that has been winning all kinds of technology awards around the market and beyond. We also know that a surround vision camera will be included, providing a bird’s eye view of your vehicles surround, increasing the safety of parking and even low-speed driving.
Plus, two brand-new features so far exclusive to the Bolt EV will be introduced upon its release. One is electric vehicle-specific navigation, which tailors your routes to maximizing the range and knowing right where nearby charging stations can be found. And finally, gamification, which will allow Bolt EV owners to compete with one another and find out who the most efficient driver is. As more information becomes available regarding the 2017 Chevy Bolt, we’ll be sure to update you. Until then, feel free to give us a call with any questions that you might have.
