2017 GMC Acadia Edmonton AB
The GMC Acadia was first introduced in 2006 as a 2007 model year vehicle. It was a 5-door full-size crossover and is currently, aside from the Savana, the oldest vehicle on the lineup, considering all of the other vehicles were either introduced after or have entered a new generation since the Acadia was released. This is precisely why it’s so exciting that the 2017 GMC Acadia in Edmonton AB was unveiled earlier this month.
With a completely new exterior design and a surplus of new features and technologies, the next-generation GMC Acadia is a crossover we cannot wait for. While some specifications haven’t yet been released, like fuel efficiency, a surprising amount of information on its specs and features have already been announced, and we’ve covered many of them on our blog!
Specs & Features of the 2017 GMC Acadia
Perhaps the most exciting specification surrounding the all-new GMC Acadia is its size. Now with a multitude of options, you can select an Acadia with either 5-, 6- or 7-passenger seating arrangements, while allowing even greater control over the maneuverability of the vehicle than its original generation. Most importantly, though, is the fact that the new Acadia’s structure has shed 700 pounds from the overall curb weight of the vehicle. This has cut back a bit of the cargo capacity and passenger volume, but its advanced control and increased power are worth the slight loss.
Speaking of power, its available 3.6L V6 engine delivers 310 horsepower and an estimated trailering capacity of 4,000 lbs. Like we said, confirmed fuel economy ratings have yet to be released, however General Motors has estimated a highway fuel economy rating of 9.4 l/100km. As more details about the 2017 GMC Acadia come to light, we’ll be sure to cover them on DonWheaton.com and that website’s blog.
