Next Generation 2016 Honda Ridgeline
Back in 2005, Honda debuted its revolutionary midsize sport utility truck to great reception. It went on to win the 2006 North American Truck of the Year award, as well as the Motor Trend Truck of the Year honors. Needless to say, it was an exciting truck that changed the way small trucks were viewed. Finally, Honda plans to do it all over again by redesigning the Ridgeline and entering it into its second generation after ten years, with the next generation 2016 Honda Ridgeline.
When the Ridgeline first entered the market it bent the guidelines of an American pickup truck, and created something groundbreaking and exciting. It had a spacious five passenger cabin which was fairly unheard of in a small truck. Not only that, but it also had the capabilities of a half-ton truck even at its small size. But what was truly revolutionary was the fact that it was built on a closed-box unibody platform, the first sport utility truck to do so. There were more features found for the first time in the Ridgeline as well, like the large In-Bed Trunk and dual-action tailgate, which all made the truck truly exciting.
Which is exactly why we’re so excited about the confirmation of a next generation Honda Ridgeline coming to the 2016 model year. If the initial first generation of the truck made so many innovations, we can only imagine what the next generation Honda Ridgeline will bring to the table ten years later. With tons of new technologies and features coming out every year, the 2016 Honda Ridgeline is poised to be even more groundbreaking than its original incarnation, and we can’t wait to see what Honda comes up with.
