Wheaton Services: Tire Rotation, Balance, and Replacement
In keeping with sharing information about the different services we offer, we thought we’d throw a few of the different tire services into one post to get them all done quickly and easily. Your tires are obviously an integral part of your car, as they’re what the entire weight of your vehicle rests upon, and without them you wouldn’t move. So you have to take care of your tires, and Wheaton Services like tire rotation, balancing, and replacement are all great ways to make sure your tires are functioning properly.
First of all, tire rotation is extremely important to keep your car running smoothly and efficiently while also extending the longevity of your tires. You can get this done every other oil change to make it easy to remember, and it shouldn’t take long for our mechanics to do. Rotating your tires is literally exactly what it sounds like, its simply moving around which position your tires are in beneath your car so that they’re all running down at a more equal level. If you have a rear wheel drive car, your back tires will wear down a little bit quicker than the front. And vice versa. Plenty of other things factor into the wear on your tires as well, so its a great idea to rotate them regularly.
Tire balancing is another thing that leads to wear and tear on your tires. If there is an imperfection in the way that your tires are installed, they can become imbalanced and thus wear your tires faster. Not only that, but it’ll take what might’ve been a nice, smooth ride and turn it into a bumpy, car-sickness-inducing nightmare. Imbalance can occur from having heavy or light spots in the tire which causes the tire to roll unevenly, or from having unequal weight on the sides of the tire, which creates an entire side-to-side wobble. If something feels funny when you’re driving, its a good idea to get this checked out.
Staying on top of your tire rotation and balancing is a really good way to save money down the road and give you the most comfortable ride possible. But if something were to happen to your tires, we can also replace them for you at any of our Drive Wheaton dealerships. So whether you want your tires rotated, the balance checked, or you just want to purchase a new set, give us a call or stop into the one of our shops and we’ll get you taken care of.
