2015 GMC Sierra Carbon Edition
The GMC marque seems to be very caught up in giving their customers tons of options for this model year. The 2015 GMC Sierra has already been announced to have a sport truck version coming by the end of the year with the Elevation Edition, and now we can confirm another new special edition option. The 2015 GMC Sierra Carbon Edition looks to bring even more strength and style to the already impressive GMC truck lineup. The Sierra marketing manager said that the Carbon Edition would be “for customers wanting to stand out and make a strong statement.”
The Elevation Edition was announced a couple of weeks ago, but it is simply being created to fill a large industry gap in the sport utility truck segment that has been deteriorating as of late. The Carbon Edition on the other hand is simply to give consumers more style options, and it’ll be offered in three different versions. The standard Carbon Edition model will be offered on the regular Sierra 1500 double cab model. It will receive distinct Carbon graphics to echo the name, like two carbon fiber graphics on the hood and another on the tailgate.
It is also set to add things like a black painted grille, body-colored door handles and other accents, and 4” black tubular side-assist steps. As for the inside, it’ll have standard upgrades like remote keyless entry, a 110-volt outlet, as well as the growing-in-popularity LED cargo box lighting. Beneath the hood will rest a standard 4.3 EcoTec3 V6 engine or the optional 5.3L V8 that pumps out an additional 70 horsepower.
Among these features, more will likely be added to each of the next two levels. The first of which is the Carbon 20, which is only available on the Sierra SLE double cab model and adds standard 20” aluminum alloy wheels. Then the top level is the Carbon 22, available on either the Sierra SLE double or crew cab model, and upgrades the wheels again to 22” black alloy wheels. The Carbon Editions will run at an MSRP of $33,075, $38,275 and $42,270 respectively. We’ll bring updates as they become available, but feel free to contact Drive Wheaton with any questions on availability or about the new special edition as a whole.
