Buick Envision Specs and Features
Remember a few days ago when we told you about the new Buick Envision mid-size crossover sport utility vehicle being brought into China to fill a gap in the crossover market? Remember how we said there was a possibility it’d be making the jump across the pond to the North American market as early as fall next year? Well, we still aren’t positive whether or not it’ll be coming to our market, but we do have some Buick Envision specs and features that both get us more excited for the prospect, and lead us to further believe it could be coming here.
For starters, the engine is almost identical to the North American Chevy Malibu. It will come with a 2L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that gets 7.4 l/100km with 256 horsepower alongside 260 lb-ft of torque, a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The suspension system will come with a driver-select feature with choices like Normal, Tour, Sport and Off-Road, extremely similar to SUV driver-select modes in other North American vehicles.
Exterior features like front and rear LED lamps, 19” aluminum alloy wheels, aluminum alloy luggage rack, and active grille shutters are all features that sound like they are coming right off an American vehicle, but will be present on the Buick Envision. And on the interior, piano-black accents and French-style dual stitching on the upholstery are extremely popular in American models and will be available in the Envision alongside other popular American features like a large panoramic sunroof, front powered seats featuring heating, cooling and ventilation, and a heated steering wheel.
But perhaps the most American thing about the Buick Envision is the infotainment system, featuring smartphone connectivity and an 8” high-def touchscreen media display with voice control. None of this confirms the Buick Envision for North America, but we feel pretty good about assuming it’ll be making the jump and landing on our dealerships at some point in the near future. Keep looking for details on our blog as we’ll update as they become available.
