2015 Buick Verano specs and features
The Buick Verano has been turning heads the world over since its introduction in the 2012 model year. But what gives it such a comfortable ride? And what exactly makes the cabin so quiet? Well we got a bit of a peek into the inner workings of the vehicle, and have just a few 2015 Buick Verano specs and features that might explain just that.
We’ve got to tell you, it isn’t exactly what we expected. A lot of vehicles focus on extensive insulation or well-tuned chassis, and while Buick has some of this as well they focus more in an oft-underestimated part of the vehicle, the tires. A General Motors engineer stated that when developing the tires for the 2015 Buick Verano, they were focusing on ride comfort, balancing fuel economy and rolling resistance, all the while also delivering a driving experience that was engaging.
The tire development team worked alongside a manufacturer, Continental Tire, to create two very different packages for the Verano’s feet. One one hand, the standard 17” P225/50R17 tires offer a lower rolling resistance to increase fuel efficiency, and on the other hand they made 18” P235/45R18 tires to be standard on the Turbo trim and delivers a much more sporty drive with improved handling.
The engineers then made other tweaks like tuning peak frequencies to reduce vibration sounds through the car, adjusting steel belt packages to increase the ride quality, and modifying the pattern of the tires tread to reduce high-frequency noises that occur as a tire moves across a street. They put a lot of hard work into the creation of these tires to offer Verano drivers the best ride possible.
