Who are the finalists for the AJAC Car of the Year Award?
The Automotive Journalists Association of Canada hands out some of the most important awards and titles for us here in Edmonton. Trophies like those from Motor Trend and Kelley Blue Book are great, but the AJAC awards are tailored specifically for our customers, the Canadians who are going to be buying our vehicles right here in Edmonton, Alberta. So we’re getting pretty excited about the upcoming AJAC Car of the Year Award, which will be decided and announced on February 11th in Toronto, at the Canadian International Auto Show. Which leaves us with only one questions, who are the finalists?

While each of the specific category winners have already been announced, like the Best New Small Car category that the Civic won, the overall Car of the Year won’t be announced until the show. But at the Montreal International Auto Show a few days ago, AJAC announced its three finalists. The first is the Volkswagen Golf R, the second is the Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen – clearly AJAC likes Golf – but the third and final-finalist is none other than the 2016 Honda Civic.
“We’re honoured and humbled to be considered for this recognition by the members of AJAC. The 10th generation is our most ambitious Civic redesign to date so it’s rewarding to be recognized for the cumulative effort by our talented Honda associates,” stated the Senior Vice President of Honda Canada Inc. Operations, Dave Gardner.
We cannot wait to find out whether or not the Honda Civic wins the honors, and we’ll be sure to give you all the scoop as soon as we know on WheatonHonda.com. We’re sure to cover the other goings-on of the Canadian International Auto Show as well, so be sure to tune into that blog after February 11th.
