2015 Toyota Avalon vs 2015 Lincoln MKZ
Perched atop any automotive lineup rests what we call a flagship vehicle. Whether it be a flagship crossover or, in this instance, a flagship sedan, these vehicles represent not just the biggest vehicle in the lineup, but the top of the line in every other sense of the words as well. The Toyota Avalon is packed with premium features, touched by elegant design cues and has one of the most powerful engines in the entire stable of vehicles. We decided to see how one of its rivals can compare by taking a look at the 2015 Toyota Avalon vs 2015 Lincoln MKZ.
Advantages of the 2015 Toyota Avalon
The Lincoln MKZ has been getting a lot of attention lately thanks to some – we aren’t afraid to say – brilliant commercials starring Matthew McConaughey. But while those commercials are stellar, the vehicle doesn’t exactly measure up, at least not in a battle with the Toyota Avalon. The Avalon trumps it in numerous categories from performance to capacity, putting it firmly out in front in our opinions.
Let’s start with power, where the Avalon’s engine puts out 268 horsepower, which is 37 hp more than the MKZ. Generally a vehicle with less power can find solace in a lighter curb weight, however the Toyota flagship beats the Lincoln again by weight over 200 pounds less. The other big advantage the Avalon has is in terms of space, where it has more room in both the trunk and interior cabin. With an extra 0.6 cubic feet of space in the trunk, and nearly 8 extra cubic feet of space for your passengers to get comfortable, this battle becomes somewhat of a no brainer.
