2015 Toyota Venza vs 2015 Ford Edge
In a recent research page on the Toyota Venza, we mentioned that the midsize crossover would be discontinued after the 2015 model year. Fortunately we were wrong, as it was recently announced that the crossover would be sticking around here in Canada for at least a couple more years! But the 2015 model is still a great option in the crossover segment, and we thought we would showcase that by showing the similarities and advantages it has over one of its biggest competitors on the market by comparing the 2015 Toyota Venza vs 2015 Ford Edge.
Advantages of the 2015 Toyota Venza
Taking a look at the table up above, it’s easy to tell that the two midsize crossovers are quite equivalent, perhaps much more similar than one might have expected. Starting right at the top, both vehicles operate at 11.8 litres per 100 kilometres through city streets meaning neither option will give you much of an advantage at the gas pump. However moving on, the 2015 Ford Edge has a pretty sizeable one over the 2015 Toyota Venza in terms of horsepower. The Edge’s engine delivers an extra 64 horsepower, meaning it’ll get quite a bit more pickup on the road.
However the Toyota Venza has a curb weight of just over 150 lbs. less than the Ford Edge, meaning that quite a bit of that horsepower advantage is lost for the Edge. And the last category that Venza blows the Edge out of the water, as it can provide an extra 30.3 cubic feet of space for passengers to stretch out and get comfortable in. That’s a huge advantage in a crossover as drivers will likely be carting around multiple people often. Schedule a test drive online today!
