2016 Cadillac CTS vs 2016 Lincoln MKZ
Until the introduction of the brand-new Cadillac CT6, which is scheduled to arrive a little over two months from now, the CTS was the most talked-about car on the lineup. It was the flagship, as that designation belonged to the full-size XTS, but it was certainly the most popular. We’ll see if its success will continue after the initial excitement about the brand-new CT6 sedan subsides, and to be honest we believe it will. We thought we would show you why we’re so confident by comparing it against another extremely popular sedan in its segment, so we took a closer look at the 2016 Cadillac CTS vs 2016 Lincoln MKZ.
Advantages of the 2016 Cadillac CTS
As you can tell by taking a look at the table above, the two vehicles are quite similar, but the Cadillac CTS manages to get a slight nod in several categories that are important in its segment. Starting from the top, the CTS trumps the MKZ in horsepower by 37 horsepower, which is a pretty big advantage when it comes to power. But taking it a step further, the MKZ also weight 64 lbs. less which makes the advantage even bigger.
The Lincoln does have one advantage, and that’s where Highway Fuel Efficiency is concerned. The advantage isn’t big enough to be a game changer however, as it only utilizes a half-litre less per 100 kilometres. While it might save you a bit of change at the gas pump, you’ll still have to stop at the gas station more often than in the CTS thanks to the Cadillac sedan’s larger fuel tank, which can accommodate an extra 2.5 gallons of gasoline.
