2016 Honda Fit vs 2016 Kia Soul
After being redesigned and sent into its third generation for the 2015 model year, the Honda Fit has been going strong. It remains one of the most popular Honda cars on the lineup today, thanks in part to the massive amount of cargo space it has for being such a small, subcompact hatchback. We wanted to take a look at it in comparison to another vehicle, and thought we’d expand the reach beyond just its own segment. So we decided to compare the 2016 Honda Fit vs 2016 Kia Soul.
Advantages of the 2016 Honda Fit
Obviously, even though the Fit has a massive amount of space for its segment, it won’t be able to match the Kia Soul considering it is a subcompact crossover. But the Honda Fit does have other advantages, namely fuel efficiency and power, as you can see by taking a look at the table above.
Starting at the top, it is obvious that the smaller of the two subcompact vehicles, the Honda Fit, trumps the Kia Soul in terms of fuel efficiency. On the highway, the Fit utilizes nearly 1 ½ litres less per 100 kilometres, while through the city nearly 2 l/100km less. So even though you won’t have quite as much space, you’ll still have plenty of space for the type of vehicle and you’ll get to benefit from the enhanced fuel efficiency, which will save you a bit of money at the gas pump.
Moving onto power, the two vehicles are identical, which is surprising as crossover vehicles generally provide much more power than small cars, even a subcompact one. What makes matters worse for the Kia Soul, is that the Honda Fit also happens to weigh 201 lbs. less than it, boosting its power a bit and making it perform even better than its bigger rival.
